Naturopathic Medicine is a form of healthcare which combines traditional medicine with conventional medicine. Naturopathic doctors are trained to diagnose, care and manage patients while treating the root cause of health concerns using natural methods and evidence-based treatments.
Treatment is individualized and can include nutrition and lifestyle counselling, nutritional supplementation, botanical medicine, and acupuncture. Our goal is to help you feel more confident about your health while decreasing the way your symptoms may be impacting your life.
Throughout your treatment, you will understand more about your specific concern or condition with the goal of learning how to achieve sustainable change and improvements using natural methods.
In your first appointment, you will be asked detailed information about your health concerns, health history, and lifestyle. You may be asked to complete lab work as a part of your assessment, and at the end of your appointment, you will be provided with a treatment plan.
Follow up appointments are more frequent at the beginning of treatment, where we will have the opportunity to review lab work, make modification to, or continue with treatment plans, and learn more about your health concerns and lifestyle.
The Initial Assessment focuses on identifying the root cause of pain through a series of hands-on tests and discussions. Treatment will begin immediately during the Initial Assessment and a tailored plan is created.
The therapist will refer to the tailored plan developed for the patient and apply manual therapy and corrective exercises to achieve the patient’s goals. Please note the therapist may implement techniques such as active release techniques, trigger point therapy and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF).
Longevity and future injury prevention begin with consistent movement. Therefore, our therapists prescribe exercises that best suit your needs. Every effort is made to correct your current issues and strengthen your body to prevent future pain.
